Mill Avenue microbrewery to host tapping party

A new Tempe brewery will debut its first handcrafted beer this week.

Blasted Barley Beer Company, Mill Avenue’s only locally-owned microbrewery, will tap Orange Bomb — an orange chocolate stout — Thursday, Jan. 8 at its new location at 404 S. Mill Ave. in Tempe.

The beer is described by the brewery as a sweet, full-bodied and “unorthodox” craft stout.

Blasted Barley is the newest member of a craft beer scene in Tempe, which includes Four Peaks, Sleepy Dog, Huss and Cartel, among others.
