2 men, 1 woman sentenced for trafficking methamphetamine in Arizona

PHOENIX — Three people are headed to prison after being sentenced for trafficking methamphetamine, the Arizona Attorney General’s Office announced Tuesday.

Michael Koontz, Jerome Borsch and Holly Dagnino have all been sentenced after an investigation that stretches back to 2023.

In April 2023, Koontz was accused of trafficking methamphetamine and selling drugs to people in Maricopa and Yavapai Counties.

Investigators later found that Koontz worked with Borsch to sell 50 pounds of methamphetamine and that they had arranged a meeting with Dagnino for a sale.

Dagnino was later found with two pounds of methamphetamine in her purse during a traffic stop.

All three were charged with conspiracy, illegally conducting an enterprise and possession of a dangerous drug for sale in August 2023. Koontz and Borsch both received an additional six counts for selling methamphetamine.

All three have now been convicted and sentenced.

Koontz was sentenced to 8 1/4 years in prison in Oct. 2024, Borsch was sentenced to 9 1/4 years in prison in May and Dagnino was sentenced to six years in prison late last month.

“These sentences serve as a clear message: Those who choose to endanger out communities by trafficking dangerous drugs will be held accountable,” Arizona Attorney General Kris Mayes said in a press release.
