New York man sentenced to 25 years for methamphetamine trafficking in Phoenix

A New York man was sentenced Monday to 25 years in federal prison for his role in a conspiracy to distribute more than 19 pounds of methamphetamine in the Phoenix area.
Hector Delacruz, 36, was convicted on charges of possession with intent and conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine. He was sentenced to 25 years on one charge and 10 years for the other.
The case stems from a September 2023 drug sale in west Phoenix. A federal jury convicted Delacruz in October 2025 and found he had committed two prior serious drug felonies, triggering enhanced penalties under federal sentencing law.
A Glock 19 handgun was seized as part of the case.
“Delacruz’s 25-year sentence reflects his repeated disregard for the law and the devastating effects that methamphetamine inflicts on individuals, families and communities across America,” U.S. Attorney for the District of Arizona Timothy Courchaine said in a statement.
The case was investigated by the Drug Enforcement Administration, the Glendale Police Department, the U.S. Secret Service and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
