PHOENIX — Metallica postponed its Sunday show at State Farm Stadium in Glendale due to COVID-19.

Lead singer James Hetfield tested positive for the respiratory disease, the thrash metal legends announced announced Saturday.

The show was rescheduled for Saturday, Sept. 9. All tickets for the postponed show will be honored, the band said.

Ticket holders who can’t make the rescheduled date can request refunds at arizonacardinals@seatgeek.com by 9 p.m. Thursday.

Metallica’s ongoing M72 World Tour features two dates at most stops, with different setlists and opening lineups each night.

Ice Nine Kills, one of the scheduled opening acts for the postponed show, can’t make the new date and will be replaced on the bill by Suicidal Tendencies. Five Finger Death Punch remains on board.

Metallica played a 14-song set at State Farm Stadium on Friday.

We want to hear from you.
