Mesa police: Man, child and 2 dogs found dead in home

PHOENIX — A man, a child and two dogs were found dead in a Mesa home Wednesday night, according to authorities.

Officers arrived to the scene near Ellsworth and Brown roads just before 8 p.m. in response to a woman who called 911 saying she was injured and needed help, Irene Mahoney with the Mesa Police Department told KTAR News 92.3 FM on Thursday.

The woman was taken to the hospital with a serious eye injury.

Officers discovered the bodies of a man and a child inside the home, Mahoney said, along with two dogs who were also found dead.

Authorities at this time have no reason to believe there are any outstanding suspects, Mahoney said.
