PHOENIX — The Mesa Fire and Medical Department is offering sponsorship opportunities for businesses to feature their brand on the side of its fire trucks.
The collaboration between the department and the Mesa Chamber of Commerce not only helps local businesses get their name out, but the sponsorship packages also help in making up for a portion of the approximate $3.7 million in budget cuts that take effect in the upcoming fiscal year. The pairing also assists with educating Mesa citizens and visitors on multiple aspects of health, fire and life safety topics.
“The development of this private/public partnership was not only submitted as a concept to our City Manager’s Office to offset our budget cuts but can lead us to having self-sufficient community education programs and will limit the impact on our operational and 911 response budgets,” Program Manager Deputy Chief Forrest Smith said.
“We are proud and look forward to making it possible for local and national organizations and businesses to show their support for our community’s safety by assisting us in supporting more empowered, informed, healthy, and safe Mesa citizens.”
The goal is to provide businesses access to more than 25 vehicles in the fleet and to raise $250,000 annually.
Sponsorships range from $2,500 to $15,000.
The trucks will feature two vinyl door decals with a safety message over the company’s logo.
The first truck sponsored, Engine 203, features the Mesa Chamber of Commerce with a safety message that reads: “It’s everyone’s business to stop the spread of the flu.”
Although the companies are also sponsoring the text displayed, it will only refer to health and safety, not advertising.
To go along with the signage, trading cards will also be made to feature the sponsored department apparatus, stations and equipment with the business sponsor.
