Meghan McCain tears up on ‘The View’ while talking dad’s cancer diagnosis
Meghan McCain, the daughter of U.S. Sen. John McCain, got emotional on "The View" as she discussed her father's cancer diagnosis on Monday.
PHOENIX — Meghan McCain, the daughter of U.S. Sen. John McCain, got emotional during her first day on “The View” as she discussed her father’s cancer diagnosis on Monday.
The other co-hosts were asking McCain about her father’s health issues and how his cancer diagnosis affected her when she began to tear up, at one point even holding co-host Sunny Hostin’s hand.
“I can’t believe I’m freaking crying already,” she said. “When you hear cancer, a nuclear bomb goes off in your life. No matter who you are. I didn’t realize how intense and disruptive and scary and hopeless and chaotic you would feel all day long.”
McCain then continued to talk about how she wants to make it her life’s mission to find a cure for cancer — particularly the one that her father was diagnosed with.
The senior senator from Arizona was diagnosed with glioblastoma, the most aggressive form of cancer that begins in the brain, in July. The typical survival period after a diagnosis was 12 to 15 months, though a small percentage live longer than five years.

Whoopi Goldberg, one of the show’s other co-hosts, gave a message directly to McCain’s parents, saying, “We got her. I just want you and Cindy to know she’s in good hands here.”
And her father was certainly paying attention. On Monday, John McCain tweeted, “Watching @MeghanMcCain’s first day on @TheView @ABC – we are very proud!”

McCain, a 32-year-old political contributor, joined as the show’s newest co-host after leaving her post as co-host on the Fox News Channel talk show “Outnumbered.”
McCain effectively replaced Jedediah Bila, who once served as the program’s conservative voice. Bila announced in September that she was leaving the show, but did not give a reason why.

I remember when John McCain visited "The View" when he was running for President. Whoopie asked him if she was would have to worry about becoming a slave again if he was elected. She's a dirt bag.
Why would anyone with a brain watch the view. I walked by a TV that had it on and got the feeling I was losing brains cells just hearing these women screeching over each other.
Why would she go on with these incredibly liberal women? They contribute nothing intelligent
