‘Mean Girls’ tops list of ASU Gammage Broadway Season shows

PHOENIX – If you’ve got a ticket, you can sit with everyone at ASU Gammage to watch “Mean Girls” during the Broadway Across America-Arizona season in Tempe.
The lineup opens Sept. 24 with “Miss Saigon” and closes May 31, 2020, with “Come From Away.”
In between, the classic “Fiddler on the Roof” and recent standout “Mean Girls,” a musical version of Tina Fey’s 2004 movie of the same name, will hit the stage.
“Mean Girls” will run April 21-26, 2020.
The show made its official Broadway debut April 8, 2018, and racked up a dozen Tony nominations.
Season subscriptions for the seven shows go on sale May 13, starting at $195.

“We’re connecting the community to live theater experiences many will never forget,” Gammage executive director Colleen Jennings-Roggensack said in a statement Tuesday.
Tony-winning offerings in the season include “Miss Saigon,” which won best musical in 1991.
Playbill listed the show as the 13th longest-running in Broadway history.
“Summer: The Donna Summer Musical” tribute to the late disco disco queen, will warm up audiences Jan. 7-12, 2020.
Season options included Blue Man Group in November and popular award-wining “The Lion King,” scheduled for June 17-20, 2020.
