Marriott open concept contest comes to Phoenix

Marriott International is giving one lucky Phoenician to chance to open their own food or drink space at the Renaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel.

CANVAS is a hotel-based concept lab, and the former Starbucks space downtown is like your own blank canvas, ready to be illustrated and imagined. If your restaurant or drink idea wins the prize, you’ll be able to call the space your own and get help and professional advice to get your idea off the ground. You’ll also receive startup money.

The space is ready-to-build, and our expert team of designers will work with your ideas to help realize a space that supports your vision. Let us help you test your restaurant chops and get your idea off the ground.

Submit your idea by January, 16, 2015. You must complete the online application, create a video and share a business plan. Those selected for in-person interviews must be available in their city Jan. 28 and 29.

Winners will then have two months to completely follow through with their design plans and be up and running.
