Maricopa police officer wounded in shootout is now recovering at home
The Maricopa police officer who was injured in a shootout last week has been released from the hospital, authorities announced Thursday.

PHOENIX – The Maricopa police officer who was injured in a shootout last week has been released from the hospital, authorities announced Thursday.
Officer Sebastian Sanchez is now recovering at home, the Maricopa Police Department said.
Sanchez was wounded on Feb. 27 while pursuing Keith Tyler Prock, a known violent felon with outstanding warrants, police said.
How was Maricopa police officer wounded?
Prock, 38, tried to flee after officers spotted him at the Circle K at 18141 N. John Wayne Parkway just before 2:50 p.m.
He exchanged gunfire with officers while they pursued him, striking Sanchez several times.
Prock was killed in the shootout.
“Thankfully, our officer survived, and their prognosis is positive. However, they sustained serious injuries that will take time to heal,” Chief Mark Goodman said in a statement.
