PHOENIX – Maricopa County is making it easier for local businesses and residents to take advantage of ongoing COVID-19 assistance programs.

The county launched its Take Care website last week, providing convenient access to information about six federal CARES Act-funded programs available in the Phoenix area.

Two of the programs are related to personal health: free COVID-19 testing and free flu vaccinations.

Residents who are hurting financially as a result of the pandemic can find out how to apply for rent, utility and funeral cost assistance.

Small businesses and nonprofits experiencing financial hardships can use the Take Care site to learn about relief grants of up to $25,000.

The Take Care site also has a Spanish version called Te Cuidamos.

Maricopa County received $399 million as part of the $2 trillion Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Security Act, which was passed by Congress and signed by President Donald Trump in March.
