Detectives with the Phoenix Police Department’s Vehicular Crimes Unit are investigating the incident.

An initial investigation suggests Doberstein was driving westbound on the 3rd Street I-10 off-ramp when his vehicle collided with a barrier wall.

Authorities believe speed to be a factor into the crash, but it remains unclear whether impairment played a role, and the investigation remains ongoing.
