Man in custody after allegedly punching Glendale officer at Westgate
A 35-year-old man accused of punching a Glendale police officer at Westgate Entertainment District was taken into custody Sunday night, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A 35-year-old man accused of punching a Glendale police officer at Westgate Entertainment District was taken into custody Sunday night, authorities said.
The officer was working in an “off-duty capacity” when he was hit by the suspect sometime before 7:30 p.m., police said.
He sustained a non-life-threatening injury from a secondary fall and was taken to a local hospital for treatment, authorities said.

The suspect, whose name has not been released, remains in custody.
