Pedestrian dead after alleged hit-and-run in west Phoenix
A man died early Saturday morning in what police described as a hit-and-run in west Phoenix.

A man died early Saturday morning in what police described as a hit-and-run in west Phoenix.
Officers arrived at the area of the collision near 50th Avenue and McDowell Road around 3 a.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The man was crossing midblock when the collision occurred.
Authorities said the vehicle that hit him did not remain at the scene, nor has it been located. It is believed to be a pickup truck, police said.
Police asked that anyone with information about the truck, or its driver’s whereabouts, call Silent Witness at 480-948-6377 or 480-837-8446 for Spanish speakers.

Alleged? Seriously? If a driver hits someone and then doesn’t remain at the scene, how is that NOT hit-and-run???? SMH
