Man found dead with obvious signs of trauma near Phoenix canal

PHOENIX — A homicide investigation is underway after a man was found dead next to a Phoenix canal, authorities said.

Officers responded to a call about an injured person near Indian School Road and 67th Avenue around 7 a.m. Sunday, the Phoenix Police Department said.

When they arrived, 35-year-old Lee Trevizo was found dead with obvious signs of trauma to his body, police said.

An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
