Man dies after car falls onto him in Goodyear

PHOENIX — A man is dead after his car fell onto him in Goodyear on Sunday morning.

Police conducted a welfare check near Yuma Road and Cotton Lane just before 5 a.m., according to the Goodyear Police Department.

After arriving, officers found a man trapped underneath his vehicle and pronounced him dead at the scene.

Police believe the man was working on his vehicle when the jack failed, resulting in the car falling on top of him.

The investigation into the man’s death remains ongoing and is believed to be an accident.
