Evening shooting in north Phoenix leaves 45-year-old man dead

A 45-year-old man is dead after a shooting in north Phoenix on Friday evening, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A 45-year-old man is dead after a shooting in north Phoenix on Friday evening, authorities said.

According to the Phoenix Police Department, officers responded to the area of 27th and Alice avenues for reports of a shooting around 6 p.m.

When police arrive on scene, they reportedly found Kevin Mitchell suffering from at least one gunshot wound.

Police said Mitchell was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No other information was provided as the investigation is ongoing.
