Motorcyclist dead after collision with Jeep in north Phoenix

A  motorcyclist is dead after a collision involving a Jeep in north Phoenix on Friday morning, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A  motorcyclist is dead after a collision involving a Jeep in north Phoenix on Friday morning, authorities said.

Jeffrey Olivera, 55, was identified as the motorist killed in the crash, according to the Phoenix Police Department.

Officers responded to the collision near 64th Street and Thunderbird Road around 11:30 a.m.

When police arrived on scene they found Olivera suffering from critical injuries. He was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.

Details on fatal north Phoenix collision

According to Phoenix police, detectives learned that Olivera had been traveling east on Thunderbird Road when a Jeep made a left turn in front of him from 64th Street.

Police said the driver, a 33-year-old female, stayed on the scene and showed no signs of impairment.

No other information was provided.
