Man crossing Phoenix street struck by car, dies from injuries

A man crossing a street in Phoenix on Saturday died in a hospital after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a midblock, authorities said.

PHOENIX — A man crossing a street in Phoenix on Saturday died after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a midblock, authorities said.

Officers responded to a report of a collision with injuries near the area of 32nd Street and Camelback Road just after 6 p.m., the Phoenix Police Department said.

Christopher Bills, 52, was crossing Camelback Road when a sedan traveling westbound hit him, police said.

Bills was taken to a local hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The driver of the sedan remained on scene, and police said impairment isn’t believed to be a factor, police said.
