Man arrested for allegedly planting camera in bathroom of Phoenix dentist

PHOENIX – A man was arrested and charged with 20 counts of voyeurism recently for allegedly planting a surveillance camera in the bathroom of a west Phoenix dentist office.

According to court documents, Phoenix police arrested Innocent Bradley on Dec. 19, two weeks after the office manager reported finding a camera under the sink in a bathroom used by employees and patients.

The manager told police that the suspect first came to the office as a patient on Oct. 30, but he couldn’t be located at his appointment time.

About an hour later, staff knocked on the bathroom door, which had been locked for 45 minutes. Bradley opened the door and said he needed a few more minutes.

He came out a short time later carrying a backpack, which he took to his car before returning for his appointment.

After that, he regularly returned to the office, with or without appointments, and asked simple questions about dentistry before going into the restroom with the backpack.

After weeks of Bradley’s suspicious behavior, staff searched the bathroom on Dec. 6 and found a camera hidden in a pipe sleeve under the sink. It was secured, facing the toilet, with black tape.

They reported it to police, who impounded the camera.

Bradley returned and asked to use the bathroom on Dec. 7 and Dec. 8 but was told it was out of order each time.

When he came back Dec. 10, the office called police.

At first, Bradley told police he had no knowledge of the camera.

But when he was told it would be checked for DNA evidence, he said he had seen the camera and touched it but didn’t tell anyone because he was scared.

Bradley was released while police gathered more information.

Investigators examined the SD card from the camera, which was motion activated, and found video images from a period of nine hours on Dec. 5, the last time Bradley accessed the bathroom.

The footage showed 17 people, 13 of whom have been identified and wanted to press charges. Those 13 victims were recorded 20 times.

Nine of the victims were employees and three were juveniles.

After the investigation, police arrested Bradley and searched his residence.

Per his release order, Bradley must be fitted with an electronic monitoring device and surrender his Kenyan passport.

A status conference for Bradley was scheduled in Maricopa County Superior Court on Jan. 2, and a preliminary hearing was set for Jan. 8.
