M3F proceeds to go to PCH’s Music Therapy program

PHOENIX — The 2019 McDowell Mountain Music Festival (M3F) will be taking place from March 1-3 at Margaret T. Hance Park in Phoenix.

M3F has partnered with Phoenix Children’s Hospital (PCH) for this year’s edition of the music festival and a portion of the proceeds will benefit PCH’s Music Therapy program.

“The Collaboration with Phoenix Children’s Hospital is amazing,” President John Largay said. “What they have done to include music in their healing is world class.”

According to the American Music Therapy Association, music therapy is clinically proven to help relieve pain and reduce stress for the patient, resulting in physiological changes such as improved respiration, lower blood pressure, improved cardiac output, reduced heart rate and relaxed muscle tension.

“Music has the power to lift the spirits of our patients during the toughest battles of their lives,” Steve Schnall, senior vice president and chief development officer at Phoenix Children’s Hospital Foundation said.

“Our music therapy program provides soul-healing care to patients. M3F’s support truly changes lives.”

Since its inauguration in 2004, M3F has donated 100 percent of its proceeds to local Arizona charities.

The three-day music festival will be headlined by Odesza and Empire of the Sun.
