Lottery tickets available this week for ‘Book of Mormon’ at Gammage

PHOENIX — ASU Gammage will hold a lottery for $25 tickets to see “The Book of Mormon” before each show, starting this week.

The Tony Award-winning musical comedy, written by the creators of “South Park,” runs Tuesday through Sunday.

Theater lovers can enter for up to two lottery tickets 2 ½ hours before each of the eight total performances. Unlike previous lotteries, entries must be made in person rather than online.

A limited number of tickets will be drawn two hours before each show. Winners must be present at the time of the drawing.

According to the Gammage website, the cheapest resale tickets available were $90-100 as of Monday morning, while some went as high as $350.

“The Book of Mormon” has been offering lottery tickets on every stop of its tour, drawing up to 800 entries for some performances, according to a press release.

The musical has won nine Tony Awards, including for best musical and best score. It also won a Grammy in 2011 for best musical theater album.

Gammage has previously held lotteries for some popular shows, including “Hamilton” and “Dear Evan Hansen.”
