Lottery ticket from West Valley supermarket wins $50,000 in Powerball

PHOENIX – A lottery ticket from a West Valley supermarket won $50,000 in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing.

The lucrative ticket was sold at the Fry’s Food Store at 107th Avenue and Indian School Road.

It matched four the five winning numbers – 21, 32, 36, 45 and 49 – plus the red Powerball of 18.

It was the second time this week a Phoenix-area lottery ticket hit that combo after an entry from a Scottsdale Safeway earned $50,000 in Monday’s drawing.

As with all Arizona Lottery games, the winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

When are Powerball drawings held?

Powerball is a multistate game of chance with drawings on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays.

The jackpot went unclaimed on Wednesday and will grow to an estimated $172 million for the next drawing.

Tickets are sold for $2 per entry at more than 3,000 Arizona Lottery retailers.
