PHOENIX — A Valley FedEx truck driver had a guest during his route last week, a lost dog that decided to tag along for the ride to his morning deliveries.
Foothills Animal Rescue said in a press release that a young, shepherd/lab mix ran out into traffic on Hayden Road around 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
The FedEx driver – named Mike – another FedEx driver and many other drivers stopped.
Mike slid the door on his truck open and the dog jumped in for the ride, according to the release.
The dog rode along with Mike before he took the dog to his own house in Scottsdale for safekeeping.
Mike then posted on the Foothills Animal Rescue Facebook page that the dog had been found with the organization’s tag.
“She’s been on quite the adventure today,” Mike posted.
The dog, named Ursula, has a history of escaping.
Foothills Animal Rescue said Ursula’s family decided it might be best and safer for the organization to work on finding the dog another home.
More information on Ursula and the animal rescue organization can be found on the official website.
