Loop 202 closed at Interstate 10 after crash involving cement mixer
Westbound traffic on Loop 202 was shut down at Interstate 10 in Phoenix on Monday for about five hours because of a crash involving a cement mixer.
PHOENIX – Westbound traffic on Loop 202 was shut down at Interstate 10 in Phoenix on Monday for about five hours because of a crash involving a cement mixer, authorities said.
The accident occurred around noon on the South Mountain Freeway west of I-10, just past 48th Street, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

Westbound Loop 202 traffic was diverted to I-10, and vehicles on I-10 were not allowed to exit to Loop 202 westbound.
The HOV lane of eastbound Loop 202 was also closed because of debris from the crash.
A photo posted to social media by the Arizona Department of Transportation showed the mixer dangling over the median barrier.
The freeway reopened at about 4:45 p.m., ADOT said.
