Loop 101 closures, North Valley restrictions to affect weekend traffic

PHOENIX — Closures along and near the Loop 101 and improvement projects in the North Valley will affect drivers this weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

In the East Valley, the northbound Loop 101 Price Freeway will be closed between the Loop 202 Santan Freeway and the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway for lane stripping and pavement improvements from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

All ramps to northbound Loop 101, U.S. 60 to northbound Loop 101 and northbound Loop 101 to Loop 202 will also be closed during this time.

Further south, pavement work will close State Route 347 between the Interstate 10 and Maricopa Road from 5 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday.

The eastbound I-10 on-ramp at State Route 347 will also be closed during this time.

In the North Valley, the eastbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed between Cave Creek Road and Tatum Boulevard due to pavement improvements from 10 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday.

During this time, northbound State Route 51 ramps to eastbound Loop 101 and the eastbound Loop 101 on-ramp to Seventh Street will also be closed.

On Interstate 17, all ramps at Happy Valley Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday until 5 a.m. Monday for the removal of roundabouts and installation of temporary traffic signals.

Happy Valley Road at I-17 will also be closed in both directions during this time.

Roundabout removal will continue to require closures in the area for approximately 60 days, ADOT said.

Finally, northbound I-17 will be narrowed to one lane at Carefree Highway from midnight until noon Friday for pavement maintenance.
