Law enforcement agencies across the Valley to participate in career fair

PHOENIX – Amid a nationwide decrease in law enforcement recruits, a security agency hopes to lead future recruits to local police departments.

Windom Security Strategies Today has partnered with six law enforcement agencies, Arizona State University and several nonprofits to host the Pathway to Law Enforcement career fair.

The event will be held April 3 at 11 a.m. at 5.11 Tactical located at 2036 E. Thomas Rd. Unit 8 in Phoenix. Those interested can apply online for free.

Agencies participating include; the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office, Phoenix Police Department/Phoenix PD 9-1-1, Mesa Police Department, Chandler Police Department, Tempe Police Department, Glendale Police Department, Arizona Department of Corrections and the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The unique event will give those interested in law enforcement the opportunity to speak directly with several different recruiters about their career goals and at the same time making a career with the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office or a local police department more accessible.

Windom Security Strategies Today also hopes to inform recruits about the challenging and gainful experience their company has to offer.

Dylan Vicha, CEO of the company, believes working with the company is a great option for those looking to gain experience to successfully pursue their long-term law enforcement career goals.

“We wanted to become a farm system for local law enforcement – we wanted to build a company that mostly hires transitioning veterans who are interested in public safety as a career, ” Vicha told KTAR News 92.3 FM. “They can work for us for however long it takes to get to where they want to go.”

Law enforcement agencies across the Valley have struggled to bring on more police officers over the past few years.

To date, the Phoenix Police Department has 2,940 sworn officers. The city is fully staffed at 3,125.
