Kurt and Brenda Warner’s Treasure House adds new service dog

PHOENIX — Former Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner and his wife Brenda’s project Treasure House has a new tenant, a five-year-old Labrador Retriever named Murphy.

Murphy, a service dog who is fully trained, will be able to provide pet therapy for the residents of Treasure House and the residents will also assist with taking care of the dog, including tasks such as grooming feeding and walking, according to a release.

Treasure House is a living community for adults with cognitive disabilities seeking 29 full-time residents.

CEO of Treasure House, Lauri Tanner was Murphy’s previous owner. 

“Taking care of a pet is a wonderful opportunity for them to learn cognitive and emotional skills, and Murphy provides them with an outlet for their feelings of love and affection,” Tanner said.

Kate, a resident at the community seemed to be happy the community added a four-legged friend.

The Warner family was inspired to begin Treasure House because of their son Zachary, who recently celebrated his 30th birthday.

Treasure House hosted Zack’s dance party celebration at the facility.
