This is a great accomplishment, and I am so proud of our entire news team,” said Martha Maurer, program director for KTAR News

While you only hear some of our on-air voices in this newscast (quite a few actually!), I want to reiterate that this newscast and our entire coverage on election day and the days that followed was a complete and impressive collective effort by everyone in our newsroom, in front of the mic and behind the scenes.”

The regional winners are automatically in the running for a National Murrow Award. Winners for the national awards are announced in August.

The Radio Television Digital News Association started announcing the regional winners on Monday and will continue through May 27.
