PHOENIX – Even after a visit to Arizona, President Donald Trump continues to trail Democrat Joe Biden in a poll of likely state voters released Tuesday.

OH Predictive Insights’ survey put the former vice president ahead, 50% to 43%. The 77-year-old has led the Republican in each of the Phoenix-based company’s polls.

“With six months to go until Election Day, Trump is going to have to invest heavily in Arizona to pull out a victory in the Grand Canyon State,” OH Predictive Insights chief researcher Mike Noble said in a press release.

Trump stopped in the Valley two weeks ago, taking a tour of a Honeywell facility that is producing coronavirus masks, and holding a roundtable on Native American issues.

But the survey of 600 also showed that Biden lost some support. He dropped from 52% support in April. Trump has remained steady 43%.

Participants were called and asked which presidential candidate were they most likely to vote for. Only 6% were undecided. Most of the rest of the 234 Republicans, 204 Democrats and 162 independents knew exactly who they’d prefer in the White House.

Biden also led in favorability, 51% to 43%.

The poll, conducted May 9-11, has a margin of error of 4%. Trump was in Phoenix on May 5.

Breaking down the participants, 310 were women and 290 were men. The majority live in Maricopa County – 366.

The largest group was voters 55 or older at 348.
