Mesa police ask for public’s help identifying possible witness in unsolved 2025 homicide
Mesa police released video of a man leaving the area around the time of the incident and are asking for the public’s help identifying him.

Mesa police are asking for the public’s help identifying a suspect in the 2025 homicide of Jerry Dietch, a 47-year-old man found dead in an alley.
Dietch’s body was discovered early on May 12, 2025, near Hibbert and Broadway roads.
Investigators determined Dietch had “obvious signs of trauma” but did not explain the nature of the injuries.
Security video showed an unidentified male leaving the area around the time of the incident. Police said the person was wearing a light-colored hoodie, dark pants and dark shoes.

Detectives are asking anyone with information about the case or the person seen in the surveillance footage to call the Mesa Police Department.
“Even the smallest detail may assist investigators,” read a news release from Mesa Police.
