Leader of ASU Iranian student group cheers on strikes against ‘terrorist regime’
The leader of an Iranian student group at Arizona State University doesn’t see the weakening of a “terrorist regime” as a political issue.

PHOENIX — While the military strikes in Iran have largely divided the United States along party lines, the leader of an Iranian student group at Arizona State University doesn’t see the weakening of a “terrorist regime” as a political issue.
“Human rights is nonpartisan. So, it’s not about choosing a side, it’s about choosing the right side of history,” AmirDanial Azimi, president of ASU’s Iranian Students Association (ISA), told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
Azimi said ISA is working to educate the public about the Iranian regime, but he is disappointed that opinions are potentially being formed primarily on politics.
On Monday, members of the group attended an anti-war demonstration at ASU to spread their message. In January, they rallied at ASU after thousands were killed during anti-government protests in Iran.
“Coming from an Iranian — someone whose family has left Iran and escaped Iran — everyone in Iran and outside of Iran is happy and relieved that this regime, this Iranian regime, terrorist regime, has taken a hard hit and has become at its weakest point in 47 years,” Azimi said. “We’re not sad, we’re not angry — we’re happy that this regime is becoming weaker.”
Some have criticized the Trump administration for seemingly reneging on its campaign promise of “no new wars” and questioned whether there is a sufficient plan for a transition of power after Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and other Iranian high-ranking officials were killed in U.S. and Israeli strikes. Democrats such as Sen. Ruben Gallego and Rep. Greg Stanton have questions about the motive behind the strikes, too.
ASU Iranian student leader says military action is warranted
Azimi, however, believes the action in Iran is a matter of national and global security.
“If Iran has a change in government that’s democratic and the people have power, then the whole entire region will become more peaceful and more stable. … It’s about time that the United States is putting its foot down and saying no, like we will not tolerate bullies,” he said.
While Azimi acknowledged he doesn’t know what the future holds for Iran, he said he does know one thing for certain.
“Us Iranians are relieved that this regime is coming to a blow because … like my parents have been waiting for a long time that this regime will finally fall, and we really hope that this year, this month, it will happen,” he said.

If Trump wasn't involved the left would be in the street celebrating. Because of the hate for one man is greater then the freedom of a country they'll condemn it with every ounce of their TDS.
