Construction on Interstate 10 completed months ahead of schedule
A $19 million project to resurface Interstate 10 in Tonopah near Salome Road has been completed ahead of schedule.

PHOENIX — A $19 million project to resurface Interstate 10 in Tonopah near Salome Road has been completed.
The project started in March between mile markers 80 and 90 with construction crews also replacing guardrails, signage, fencing and making bridge repairs.
Arizona Department of Transportation said in a release that drainage was also added in the area.
Construction completed ahead of schedule
The project was expected to be done in 11 months, which would have led to a January completion date.
Workers performed most of the work overnight from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on weekdays in order to minimize traffic impacts and finish early.
The Federal Highway Administration assisted ADOT in the construction.

As a X-resident of NY/NJ,... I remember when NJDOT wanted to add an extra lane to the GSP. After years of political maneuvering, environmental studies, start-stop-start Union tactics for more money,... 18yrs of cost overruns, re-engineering add-ons,... it was time to ADD another lane next to the one that was almost started.
