Pedestrian killed in late-night hit-and-run collision on 35th Avenue in Phoenix

A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision in west Phoenix late Thursday, authorities said.

PHOENIX – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run collision in west Phoenix late Thursday, authorities said.

Gilbert Campas, 58, was struck while attempting to cross 35th Avenue near Holly Street, north of McDowell Road, just after 7 p.m., according to the Phoenix Police Department.

He was suffering from serious injuries when officers arrived on the scene and died after being taken to a hospital.

The vehicle that hit Campas left the scene. Police described it as a light-colored pickup truck.

The investigation is ongoing.

I know everything closes in Phoenix at 9PM, but I had no idea you consider 7PM "late night"!

What do YOU suggest, "Ucbay" ?
You seem like a really "smart" fella - howsabout you design something like a "Star Trek" Transporter beam ?
THAT would save lots of lives (unless it malfunctioned - as it seemed to do a LOT on the TV series)
