Here’s how you can listen to Gov. Doug Ducey’s State of the State address

PHOENIX — Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey is scheduled to address the public Monday afternoon to share his agenda for the year and outline what he hopes to accomplish during his second term.

Ducey’s annual State of the State address will be held at the state Capitol in Phoenix at 2 p.m.

The address will be broadcast live and in full on Arizona’s News Station at KTAR News 92.3 FM, our app or online.

The Arizona Republican was inaugurated last week after easily winning re-election over Democrat David Garcia in November.

One of the major themes in Ducey’s campaign was education.

During his first term, Ducey approved a $10.4 billion budget bill to increase teacher pay by 20 percent by 2020 after educators and supporters led a week-long #RedForEd walkout.

But teachers have already signaled that they are going to keep education in the spotlight in the new session.

Arizona Education Association President and #RedForEd organizer Joe Thomas said in a Facebook video that teachers want Ducey to restore all the funding that was lost since the Great Recession and wants the state Legislature to pass a “sensible tax increase and dedicate that funding to teachers and schools.”
