Here’s a roundup of mayoral results in Maricopa County
The primary election held Tuesday decided the races for mayor across several cities and towns in Maricopa County.

PHOENIX — The primary election held Tuesday decided the races for mayor across several cities and towns in Maricopa County.
About a dozen municipalities either chose a new mayor or decided to retain the current mayor, some of which ran unopposed.
Here’s a roundup of mayoral results across the county:
Carefree: Vice Mayor John Crane was elected as mayor, beating out Peter Sample.
Cave Creek: Bob Morris led Eileen Wright as of Thursday’s drop. Morris has been a city councilman for the past three years.
Chandler: Kevin Hartke retained his position, earning 77% of votes compared to Ruth Jones’ 23%.
El Mirage: Alexis Hermosillo ran unopposed and will continue being the mayor of the West Valley city.
Fountain Hills: Ginny Dickey held a slight lead over Joe Arpaio as of Wednesday. Arpaio is the 90-year-old former Phoenix metro sheriff who was ousted in 2016 by voters frustrated with his headline-grabbing tactics and legal troubles. Dickey is a Democrat serving her second term as mayor.
Goodyear: Joe Pizzillo ran unopposed and will continue being Goodyear’s mayor. He was appointed to the role in December following the death of Georgia Lord.
Guadalupe: Valerie Molina ran unopposed and will remain the town’s mayor.
Litchfield Park: Thomas Schoaf retained his position after running unopposed.
Paradise Valley: Mayor Jerry Bien-Willner was leading challenger Julie Pace as of Thursday evening.
Queen Creek: Councilmember Julia Wheatley ran unopposed and will be the town’s next mayor.
Youngtown: Mayor Michael LeVault ran unopposed.
