Here are Arizona’s most popular baby names for 2021

PHOENIX — Two names you may begin to hear more and more as time goes on are Liam and Olivia, with both once again taking the top spots for baby names in Arizona this year.

Liam was the state’s most popular name for a boy for a sixth consecutive year while Olivia was the top girl name for a third consecutive year, according to the Arizona Department of Health Services.

Following Liam was Noah, Mateo, Oliver and Sebastian.

The only name on the list to make the top 10 baby boy names back in 2011 was Noah, which was No. 10. None of the top five names from 2021 made the top 10 list in 2001 or 1991.

Olivia was followed this year by Emma, Sophia, Camila and Isabella.

The popular girls names of today were also popular back in 2011, with Sophia being No. 1, Isabella the second-most popular and Emma being No. 3.

However, none of those names were top five back in 2001 or 1991, with Ashley and Jessica taking the top spot in those respective years.
