Happy cats: Phoenix Fire rescues kittens trapped in walls

PHOENIX — Two kittens were given a new lease on life courtesy of the Phoenix Fire Department.

Capt. Aaron Ernsberger said the department received a 911 call from a woman who said she was hearing meowing and other cat-like sounds from inside her home.

When firefighters arrived on the scene, they found one kitten in the home’s attic and another inside a wall. Both were rescued.

Ernsberger said it appears the kittens’ mother gave birth in the homeowner’s attic. The homeowner said had been out of town and said she doesn’t own a cat.

Both kittens were in good health and were adopted.

Fire officials don’t know what happened to the mother.
