Motorcyclist dead after single-vehicle collision in West Valley

A motorcycle rider is dead after an overnight crash in the West Valley, authorities said.

The single-vehicle collision occurred just after midnight Wednesday near Bullard Avenue and Yuma Road in Goodyear, according to the Goodyear Police Department.

Officers responded to the crash site and began performing lifesaving measures. Fire department personnel arrived and continued the efforts, but the motorcyclist could not be resuscitated and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation into why the motorcycle crashed is ongoing.

The identity of the rider was not released.
