PHOENIX — The city of Glendale wants to be seen as a top tourist destination with the rebranding of its visitor’s bureau.
The Glendale Convention & Visitors Bureau (CVB) has been renamed Experience Glendale as part of the city’s efforts to be recognized nationally as a place to visit, according to a Thursday city of Glendale announcement.

The new name was launched during the grand opening of Glendale’s Andretti Indoor Karting & Games that brought in more than 2,000 attendees.
The celebration included a block party with Arizona-themed activities, mascots, marching bands, influencer appearances and a drone light show.
“Glendale is Arizona’s premier entertainment destination with so many exciting things to do and we’re thrilled to welcome the West Valley and beyond to enjoy everything we have to offer,” managing member Eddie Hamann of Andretti Indoor Karting & Games said in a release.

Experience Glendale recently updated its logo as part of the CVB’s vision to bring in more visitors, conferences and events, while making Glendale a premier destination.
There are plans for the new logo to be posted on signs throughout Glendale.
“The boom in our entertainment district has been phenomenal. As a city we have been focused on growing our experiential economy,” Glendale Mayor Jerry P. Weiers said in statement. “The Experience Glendale rebrand amplifies our efforts, along with the addition of Andretti Indoor Karting & Games. The time is now to experience Glendale.”

You too? I've never lived in a city that didn't fancy itself as a tourist mecca. When can we expect Glendale to get rid of the punitive hotel and visitor's tax so they can lure more visitors? I expect never; that's why they want more tourists.
Glendale has always wanted to be a Scottsdale.
