PHOENIX — Police released the identity of the off-duty Glendale officer who died Thursday morning in a motorcycle crash.
Jesse Rodriguez, 27, died on impact when his motorcycle was involved in a crash in the median on Happy Valley Road, according to an ABC15 report.
Rodriguez leaves behind a two-year-old daughter.
He served as a drill sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve and had worked for the Glendale Police Department for nearly three years.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety said no other vehicles were involved and the crash is under investigation.
“Although Officer Rodriguez was with our department a short time his impact with us will last a lifetime. We are working alongside the family to figure out memorial/funeral services,” a spokesperson for Glendale police said in a statement.
