Giving Machines return to the Valley for 2025 holiday season

PHOENIX — The holiday season is the season of giving for many and some big red machines popping up around Arizona will make that easy.

That’s because Giving Machines will be set up in Phoenix and two East Valley cities, with the first opening on Friday.

The machines look like vending machines, but instead of snacks or soda, they allow people to purchase clothing, meals, school supplies, medicine or even livestock for those in need. Gifts will range from $5 to $250.

The machines are part of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ Light the World campaign.

Since debuting in 2017, Giving Machines have collected over $50 million in donations, including more than $6.7 million in Arizona alone.

Where will Giving Machines be located in Arizona?

The first Giving Machine to open in Arizona this holiday season will be in Queen Creek on Friday.

The machine will be located at Pecan Lake Entertainment near Ellsworth and Riggs roads until Dec. 7.

This will be the first time the Giving Machine program comes to Queen Creek. Anyone who feels generous and wants to purchase a donation can do so Mondays through Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Fridays through Sundays from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Machines will also return to downtown Gilbert at the Water Tower Plaza near Page Avenue and Gilbert Road. The machines will open there from Monday until Dec. 31.

Donations can be made in Gilbert daily from 10 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. after the opening.

Then, on Dec. 10, the third Valley Giving Machine location will open at the Desert Ridge Marketplace near Tatum Boulevard and the Loop 101 Pima Freeway in Phoenix.

The machines will then be available until Dec. 31 and will operate from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Additionally, machines will also be set up in Show Low, Prescott, Snowflake, Gila Valley and Tucson.

Those traveling over the holidays can still make donations, as Giving Machines will open in 28 additional states and 20 countries around the world. More information can be found on the Giving Machines website.

What charities will benefit from the Giving Machines?

The donations purchased in the Giving Machines will benefit both local and international charities.

Charities supported by donations made in Gilbert include:

• Paz De Cristo Community Center
• Positive Paths
• Days for Girls
• Mentors International

In Queen Creek, the donations will benefit these charities:

• Harvest Pack
• House of Refuge
• Mary Gloria Foundation
• Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation
• Hope Women’s Center
• Days for Girls
• Mentors International

The Desert Ridge donations will go toward the following organizations: 

• Dysart Community Center
• Arizona Friends of Foster Children Foundation
• Angels on Patrol
• House of Refuge Sunnyslope
• Hope Women’s Center
• Days for Girls
• Mentors International
