Gilbert resident located after Silver Alert issued

PHOENIX — A Gilbert senior has been found after a Silver Alert was issued just after noon Saturday.

Dwain Townsend, 76, hadn’t been seen since Saturday morning when he was driving near the intersection of Power Road and Broadway Road. Gilbert police said Townsend suffers from possible early onset dementia and becomes disoriented quickly.

Before 4 p.m., police announced Townsend had been located and is safe.

While Townsend was found safe, a Silver Alert was still active for a 78-year-old Mesa woman, who hadn’t been heard from or seen since Friday.
