Gilbert junior high coach sentenced for sexual activity with student
A former coach in Gilbert was sentenced to six years in prison Friday for an inappropriate relationship with a junior high school student.

PHOENIX — A former coach in Gilbert was sentenced to six years in prison Friday for an inappropriate relationship with a junior high school student.
Per a plea deal, Jael Cerda, 24, was sentenced on two counts of attempted sexual conduct with a minor by Maricopa County Superior Court Judge Warren Granville.
Court records show that he pleaded guilty to the felony charges on July 31.
Cerda was coaching softball at Gilbert Junior High School when he was arrested in February 2017.
Police said he engaged in sexual activity with a 14-year-old female student.
