Gilbert couple allegedly sold nearly $3M in stolen goods on eBay, Amazon

PHOENIX – A married Gilbert couple was arrested last week for allegedly hiring people to shoplift and then selling the stolen merchandise online, hauling in millions of dollars, authorities said.

Police believe Zach Robbins, 42, and Jie Robbins, 47, raked in more than $2.7 million by hawking stolen products on eBay and Amazon in the last four-plus years, according to a Gilbert Police Department press release.

Detectives served a search warrant at their home near Higley and Warner roads Friday and found an estimated $500,000-$750,000 worth of stolen health and beauty products, police said.

The pair were booked on charges of trafficking stolen property, money laundering and illegal control of an enterprise (racketeering).

Gilbert police said they began investigating the operation after becoming aware of it about three months ago.

No other details about the case were released.

Police said no other arrests were expected.
