Eastern Arizona gas station sells $100,000 Powerball ticket

PHOENIX — One person in Globe won a large payout in Wednesday’s Powerball drawing.

The winning ticket was sold at the Speedway 297 at 1690 E. Ash Street, according to Arizona Lottery officials.

The ticket matched four of the five white balls — 50, 52, 54, 56, 64 — plus the red Powerball of 23.

That number combination made the ticket worth $50,000, but the player included the Power Play option, which doubled the payout to $100,000.

Arizona Lottery winners have 180 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes.

Powerball is a multistate game of chance with drawings every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday night. Entries cost $2 and can be purchased at more than 3,000 retailers around Arizona.

The Power Play add-on costs an extra dollar. The multiplier amount is randomly selected before each drawing and increases most non-jackpot payouts by two, three, four, five or 10 times.
