PHOENIX — Two areas along Loop 202 in the East Valley were set to undergo maintenance over the Easter holiday weekend for the installation of traffic-flow sensors and cameras.
The installations are part of the ongoing freeway management system project by the Arizona Department of Transportation.
The areas of focus on Loop 202 from March 30 to April 2 are at the following locations:
Eastbound Loop 202 will be closed between Williams Field and Higley roads from 10 p.m. on Friday to 9 a.m. on Saturday for the freeway management system technology installation. Drivers should consider taking eastbound Williams Field Road to northbound Higley Road to access the freeway beyond the closure.
Northbound Loop 202 will be closed between Guadalupe and Broadway roads from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday for installation of the freeway management system technology. Both U.S. 60 ramps to the northbound Loop 202 will remain open. Drivers should take northbound Ellsworth Road to westbound Broadway Road to access the freeway beyond the closure.
In addition, the westbound Loop 202 on-ramp at Higley Road will be closed from 10 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. on Sunday. Drivers should use southbound Higley Road or Val Vista Drive to Williams Field Road to get to the westbound Loop 202 on-ramp.
