Four Peaks Brewing Oktoberfest announces dates for 53rd year in Tempe

One of the Valley’s longest-running seasonal traditions is returning to Tempe this fall.

The Four Peaks Brewing Oktoberfest is set to return to Tempe Town Lake for its 53rd year, bringing three days of Bavarian-themed food, live music and family activities from Friday, Oct. 9 through Sunday, Oct. 11.

The outdoor festival will feature a wide lineup of authentic German food, carnival rides, games and traditional stein-holding competitions.

This year’s live music entertainment will be headlined by the Dirty Yachtin’ Scoundrels on Friday night. Wyves will take the stage on Saturday, and Whiskey’s Quicker will close out the festival on Sunday. Additional local performances are scheduled throughout the weekend.

Festival favorites are also scheduled to return, including the popular Wiener Dog Races and a brat-eating contest.

On Saturday, Oct. 10, the Frank Kush Foundation will host its annual “Runnin’ for the Brats” event around Tempe Town Lake. The festive run offers 10K, 5K and 1-mile options, with organizers encouraging participants to wear Oktoberfest costumes.

All race participants will receive free admission to the festival on Saturday. Registration for the run is currently open online.

The three-day festival serves as the primary annual fundraiser for Tempe Sister Cities, a local nonprofit founded in 1970. Proceeds from the event help fund study-abroad opportunities for Tempe high school students, sending them to nine of the organization’s 11 sister cities across the globe.

Festival hours:
Friday, Oct. 9: 5 p.m. to midnight
Saturday, Oct. 10: Noon to midnight
Sunday, Oct. 11: Noon to 10 p.m.

Super early bird pre-sale tickets are on sale now. General admission tickets are available for $18, while single-day VIP Backstage Experiences start at $80. A three-day VIP pass is available for $195.

VIP tickets include access to a front-row stage viewing area, a private bar, private restrooms, band meet-and-greets when available and complimentary food and drinks.

Admission is free for all attendees on Sunday, and anyone aged 20 or younger can enter for free all weekend. Organizers are also offering free admission to community members who sign up for volunteer opportunities.
