Found child: Mesa police locates family after child found at park

PHOENIX — After asking for help from the public, the Mesa Police Department has located the family of a young child found alone at a park on Saturday.

Around 3 p.m., a boy around the age of 2 was found at Pioneer Park on Main Street just east of Mesa Drive.

He had been wearing a black shirt, jeans and camo vans, and was 30 to 36 inches tall with a weight of 30 pounds.

He had black hair and brown eyes.

The family of the boy was located shortly before 6 p.m., at which point the Mesa Police Department called off the search.
