Former US Sen. Jeff Flake joins board of Scottsdale-based homebuilder

PHOENIX – Jeff Flake’s post-Congress life will include more than just a TV gig.

The former Republican lawmaker from Arizona has joined the board of directors at Taylor Morrison, the Scottsdale-based homebuilder announced Monday.

The release also said Flake would be a resident fellow at Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government in the fall.

“Taylor Morrison has an unrivaled reputation for quality and trust in the communities that it builds across the country,” Flake said in a company press release.

“I look forward to joining this very talented group of directors and supporting the company in its focus on strategic growth and enhancing the customer experience.”

Flake represented Arizona on Capitol Hill for 18 years, six terms in the House before one term in the Senate.

“His proven leadership ability and unique public policy experience will be a tremendous asset to our company as we navigate an increasingly complex regulatory and business environment,” Sheryl Palmer, Taylor Morrison chairman and CEO, said in the release.

Last week, CBS News revealed that the native of Snowflake, Arizona, was coming aboard as a contributor.

During an appearance on “CBS This Morning,” Flake said he wasn’t going to challenge President Donald Trump for the 2020 GOP nomination.

Flake had an adversarial relationship with Trump, spurring speculation that he might mount a presidential run after deciding not to seek re-election last year.
